Spencer is closely intertwined with the medical community. His wife, Dr. Allison Welch, is a dentist who has served patients throughout Texas, Arkansas, and Missouri. Spencer has represented doctors, dentists, and other professionals in complicated business arrangements and litigation.

Spencer has handled nearly 100 transactions, including the sale, purchase, and consolidation of private offices, contract and employment matters, and partnership arrangements. He has written for the journal Dental Economics and appeared as a legal commentator on the podcast Dentistry Unmasked. He has also advised individual owners and executives on complex purchases and consolidations of private offices.
